Lok Sabha MP Arvind Sawant of the Uddhav faction, after meeting Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Wednesday, said that six MPs of his party have left the party and joined the Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde. He said that he and Anil Desai have already met the Lok Sabha Speaker regarding this matter. Sawant said that he has urged the Speaker that if any letter or claim comes in this matter, then he must be heard before taking a decision. Advocate Arvind Sawant said that we have told the Lok Sabha Speaker that it is his responsibility to protect the Constitution. If any MP talks about leaving the party individually or as a group, then we should be heard before taking any decision. Sawant told him that he has not received any letter in this regard so far. Congress spokesperson Shama Mohammed hit out at the central government over this whole development. He said that there is an undeclared emergency in the country and MPs are being poached. Shama Mohammad said that if Uddhav wants to contest elections on another party symbol, then he should go to another party.
