Sandakphu, which has been affected by snowfall for the past few days, has received light snow, but since Friday night heavy snowfall has started in Sandakphu. As a result, roads have been covered with a layer of snow about 6 inches thick, which has reportedly stranded hundreds of tourists in Sandakphu and its adjacent areas. The situation in Sikkim and traffic has not been spared from the snowfall. The road from Lachen to Thangdu and Gurudongma has been completely closed due to the snowfall in North and East Sikkim. The road from Yumthang to Ziro Point, Lachungchung Hill, is also currently closed. The Director of the Meteorological Department, Dr. Gopinath Mungwar, has issued a high snow warning in Sikkim and Sikkim.
