Akhilesh Yadav had said two days ago that he would give a surprise name to everyone in the Rajya Sabha elections this time. This decision to send SP's Dhanraj Nathwani to Parliament is being considered as an exercise to expand the strategy of strengthening relations with major industrial houses of the country before the UP Assembly elections of 2027. According to the affidavit filed along with the nomination paper, Dhanraj Nathwani is a professional consultant in Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and is a director of many unlisted companies. He is a resident of Andheri West in Mumbai. He is a four-time Rajya Sabha MP and (as per available information) is the son of Parimal Nathwani, Corporate Affairs Director of Reliance Group. Parimal Nathwani is considered to be a very close and trusted associate of the country's top industrialist Ambani family. Let us tell you that Parimal Nathwani is currently a Rajya Sabha MP from Jharkhand with the support of the Bharatiya Janata Party (NDA). He was elected to the Rajya Sabha for the fourth time in June 2026 as an independent candidate supported by the NDA.
