Srinagar MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi has officially resigned from the National Conference (JKNC) and his Lok Sabha seat. He announced his decision during a huge public meeting in Budgam and invited the younger generation to join him to build a new and value-based political movement. Explaining his strategy ahead, Ruhullah appealed to the honest, sensitive and dedicated youth of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh to come forward. He stressed that he wants to create a platform of people who "understand the pain of their people," and not of career-oriented politicians who just "run after the chair." Among those who responded to his appeal is 28-year-old Abrar Ahmad. He has put off his personal life plans for the time being to show solidarity with the MP by taking a big decision. In support of National Conference MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdwad, the young man from Kishtwar has extended his engagement with the conference to be held on November 3.
