Sumanlata Agarwal Wins Alwar Municipal Corporation Election

In the Alwar Municipal Corporation, the BJP had 28 councillors and the Congress 23. The two parties were eyeing 33 independent councillors for a majority. The BJP got the support of 13 independents and another councillor in the election. Sumanlata Agarwal won with 42 votes. After the victory, Sumanlata Agarwal told Bhaskar, "Our party office-bearers played a good role. Everyone helped. There was no fear this time." She said that development of Alwar, making the city garbage-free, improving the electricity system and cleaning the drains would be her priority.
