New Delhi, Dec 13: In a historic move to make India's electoral process more secure and transparent, the Supreme Court on Monday agreed to hear a plea seeking implementation of biometric systems like fingerprint and facial recognition of voters at polling stations. The move is aimed at putting a permanent brake on fraudulent and duplicate voting. A bench of Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi issued notices to the central government, the Election Commission of India and various states showing seriousness in the matter.
