Suvendu Adhikari Sworn In as West Bengal Chief Minister, Former Ally of Mamata Banerjee

Kolkata: Suvendu Adhikari has become the 9th Chief Minister of West Bengal. He took the oath of office at Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and CMs of BJP-ruled and supported states attended the ceremony. Suvendu Adhikari is a BJP leader who was once Mamata Banerjee's confidant. Suvendu was considered Mamata Banerjee's right-hand man. Gradually, the distance between the two began to grow. Bhabani Bhabani, her nephew, was said to be behind Suvendu's drift away from Mamata Banerjee. Before the 2021 assembly elections in Bengal, Suvendu Adhikari suddenly left Mamata Banerjee and joined the BJP. When Suvendu Adhikari left the TMC, Mamata Banerjee gave him a lot of criticism. Mamata Banerjee had said that she fed him a poisonous snake by giving him milk-cola. Suvendu Adhikari had described Mamata Banerjee as poisonous. From 2016 to 2026, Bhabanipur and Nandigram, she has been a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly.
