New Delhi: Your Swiggy-Zomato order may now be costlier. The Iran war is also to blame. In fact, the total order value is expected to increase as fuel prices rise. According to a report by Elara Capital, the average delivery cost for Quick Commerce is expected to be 35-50 per order and 55-60 for food delivery. This comes after the second increase in petrol-diesel prices in just a few days. Delivery costs are calculated. If fuel accounts for about 20% of delivery costs, then fuel costs (on an average basis) will be 9-10 per order. This means that a fuel price increase of about 4% will have a negative impact of ₹0.404 per order. If fuel prices rise further to ₹10 per litre in 3-6 months, the average impact on each order will be about ₹ID1. According to the report, some portion of this impact can be recovered by the platform itself.
