Tamil Nadu Assembly Sees Heated Debate Over Allegations and Government Vehicle Proposal

Minister N Anand was quick to respond to the Opposition's allegations. He assured the House that the government has all the evidence. Strict action will be taken as per law when the time is right. Meanwhile, Speaker Prabhakar defended the Chief Minister. He said that the Chief Minister does not work under any external pressure. The Chief Minister takes decisions in his discretion and administrative capacity. Decisions are taken only after a formal meeting with government officials. The Speaker appealed to all MLAs not to speak filmy dialogues and'punch dialogues '. Rahul Gandhi's dharna in the ad: Congress leader said - will not move from here until an FIR is registered. There was also a controversy over the proposal to give government vehicles to MLAs in the Assembly. Udhayanidhi Stalin outrightly rejected this proposal. He said that all 59 DMK MLAs will not take these government vehicles. Udhayanidhi cited the economic crisis in the state. He suggested that this facility should be given only to poor MLAs. The decision of the House on the other hand said that it was not a part of the protocol of public service.
