Tamil Nadu Government Increases Salary of TASMAC Employees by 25% to Combat Corruption

The Tamil Nadu government has made a big announcement to increase the salary of the employees working in TASMAC liquor shops by 25 percent. The government says that this move is aimed at curbing corruption and stopping the extra money charged on liquor bottles from the customers. According to TVK Sarkar, the salary revision is expected to stop the practice of charging extra Rs 10 per bottle from the customers at Tasmac outlets. Such complaints were often reported. Minister Vignesh announced the salary hike. After this decision, it will now be taken care that the customers are not charged more than the fixed price. In fact, the government believes that better pay will reduce corruption and increase transparency in the shops. Minister Vignesh also said that such increments were not done to the Tasmac employees in the last 20 years. Recently, CM Vijay had closed 717 shops. According to Joseph Joseph, after becoming the Chief Minister, Vijay ordered the closure of religious places, educational institutions and bus stands within 500 meters of the Tasmac bus stand.
