Tamil Nadu Horse-Trading Scandal: Chief Minister Calls Emergency Meeting Amid Allegations

Following this, Chief Minister Vijay called a meeting of his coalition partners in Chennai on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the DMK also demanded an investigation into these claims of horse-trading. The controversy began when TVK MLA N Ilaiyaraaja alleged that he was offered Rs 35 crore to influence his stand in a proposed vote of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. A man named Adathiranavukkarasu allegedly approached the MLA. He claimed to be a representative of a political firm called Indian Political Democratic Strategies. He later offered money in exchange for support in the voting process. The MLA declined the offer. The MLA then filed a police complaint. The complaint also alleged that he and his family were threatened. Based on the complaint, the Tamil Nadu Police registered a case.
