A big news has come out of Tamil Nadu today, with the Tamil Nadu Police arresting three people in connection with an alleged attempt to destabilize the Vijay-led government. The action follows allegations by Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) MLA N. Ilaiyaraaja. He claimed that he was offered Rs.35 million to vote in favour of a motion against the Assembly Speaker. Three people have been arrested so far in this connection. The probe may also target former Minister Senthil Balaji and his brother Ashok Kumar. Tamil Nadu Minister P. Nirmal Kumar claimed that the DMK had been trying to get a ruling party MLA on its side for the past 40 days. The case came to light when TVK MLA from Uthangarai N. Elaiyaraaja filed a complaint with the Chennai Police. He alleged that a person from the IPDS consultancy firm had asked him not to support the no-confidence motion against the Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker and TVK leader J.C.D.
