Tamil Nadu Politics Heated Up as Chief Minister Vijay is Projected as Future Prime Minister

Tamil Nadu's TVK leaders have been projecting CM Vijay as a future prime minister for the past few days, which has heated up politics in the country. AIADMK chief Palaniswami, meanwhile, took a jibe at the mass outreach campaigns by TVK and the private jet tour of Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, saying that he (Vijay) could even become the US president. Palaniswami was asked if the TVK supporters were looking at CM Vijay as a future prime minister. To this, he said, "The chief minister can also become the US president. There is nothing wrong with that, it is his wish." However, dismissing the state government's reliance on social media, he said, "They are running the government by putting reels here, but it will not work there." He also described Chief Minister Vijay as a spendthrift chief minister and compared the current government's spending to former chief minister J. Jayalalithaa's time.
