Tamil Nadu's Government Passes Resolutions Opposing Modi Government's Delimitation and FCRA Plans

Tamil Nadu's C Joseph Vijay government has passed resolutions from the assembly against the Modi government's two major plan delimitation and FCRA within two days. Today (August 12), CM Vijay himself brought a resolution against delimitation in the assembly. Earlier on Tuesday, a resolution was passed against the FCRA bill. Interestingly, this resolution was supported by arch-rival MK Stalin's party DMK. Tamil Nadu is the first state to take such a step against delimitation and FCRA. The resolution against delimitation appealed that the number of Lok Sabha members should be fixed at 543. There was a heated debate in the assembly for about 2 hours. Then the house was approved. DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin said that our stand is that the constituency should not be delimited for the next 25 years. We welcome the resolution on 33 percent reservation for women. The movement which first told India what the effect of delimitation will be, then DMK said that we thank the Tamil Nadu minister for supporting the resolution against the DMK in the assembly.
