There was a ruckus at the office of Trinamool Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee at Camac Street in Kolkata on Thursday evening over the removal of an alleged illegal signboard. Party Rajya Sabha member Derek O'Brien fell down the stairs as TMC workers protesting against the police action clashed with Kolkata Municipal Corporation officials. He later made serious allegations against the police, saying that over 150 policemen "illegally entered" Abhishek Banerjee's office and pushed the workers. Speaking to reporters, TMC national spokesperson Derek O'Brien said that at around 3.30 p.m. Kolkata Municipal Corporation officials arrived at the office with police. According to him, a notice from the corporation was shown, which was not signed. The notice was said to have a photograph attached to it, but did not have any photograph. He claimed that he tried to explain the situation to the officials for about an hour and a half. Later, he claimed that more than 150 policemen entered the office and pushed the TMC workers inside during the incident.
