Umreth: Political activities have intensified in connection with the by-election to 111-Umreth Assembly seat announced by the Election Commission of India. Notice was issued by the administration on 30th March for the upcoming poll to be held on 23rd April. Accordingly, a total of three candidates have submitted their 6 nomination papers to the Returning Officer today, 4th April 2026. Details of the candidates who have filed the forms today: The nominations were filed by major parties and independents today before the Returning Officer and District Supply Officer of Umreth Assembly. Harshadbhai Govindbhai Parmar and Vimalkumar Kantilal Patel have filed their nominations on behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Also, Maulik Kumar Vinod Chandra Shah from the Bharatiya Janata Dal has filed his nomination for 111-Umreth seat. Withdrawal of 42 forms, to be completed by 6th April: As per information received from the election machinery, a total of 17 applicants have so far filed their nominations to contest the election.
