TMC Candidate Becharam Manna Campaigns on Foot in Singur Assembly Constituency

Milton Sen, Hooghly: Not a car or an open jeep, but a storm-water-sun-foot walk. Campaigning has been going on for 20 consecutive days on foot. Prakhar has already covered more than 480 km on foot, ignoring the sun and scorching heat. He is yet to reach 10 booths. The distance will be around 25 km. He will complete that too in the next three days, said Becharam Manna, the TMC candidate from Singur. Singur assembly constituency consists of 16 gram panchayats. The number of booths in each booth is 297. His target is to reach all the houses in each booth. Becharam Babu's main aim is not just to reach but to talk to all the residents of the booth, irrespective of party affiliation. So after announcing his name, he has started campaigning since March 24. He has not been able to campaign for nominations for one day in a row. On Monday, Becha Babu said that he knows Singur as a palm tree. So, he thought it was possible for him to go there on foot.
