TMC Crisis Deepens as Rebel MPs Seek Recognition

The crisis in the TMC is deepening by the day. On Friday, the rebel MPs met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. Also, preparations have started to get themselves recognised as the real TMC parliamentary group of the party. According to PTI, rebel MP Jagdish Chandra Barma Basunia has said that the rebel group has already submitted a memorandum to the Speaker. Next week, the rebel group will formally stake its claim. Basunia has said that we have submitted the letter. On Monday, we will go to the Speaker. We will stake our claim to form the real TMC parliamentary group. We will ask the Speaker to recognise our claim. The MP from Cooch Behar has claimed that 19 MPs have signed the memorandum. He said that the process of signing the memorandum started on June 8. The time of the proposed meeting with the Speaker has not been decided yet. Basunia has rejected TMC MP Kirti Azad's allegations against her, for instigating the MPs to switch sides. Kirti Azad has also said that it is not right to make such a false allegation.
