TMC Crisis Deepens: Rebel MPs to Meet Speaker Over Party Leadership Claim

The crisis in the TMC is deepening day by day. Now on Monday, MPs of the rebel faction of the TMC are going to meet Speaker Om Birla. Before that, they will meet on Sunday. According to PTI, rebel MP Jagdish Chandra Barma Basunia has said that the rebel faction has already submitted a memorandum to the Speaker. Next week, it will formally stake its claim. Basunia has said that we have submitted the letter. On Monday, we will go to the Speaker. We will stake our claim to form the real TMC parliamentary party. We will ask the Speaker to recognise our claim. The MP from Cooch Behar has claimed that 19 MPs have signed the memorandum. He said that the process of signing the memorandum started on June 8. The time of the proposed meeting with the Speaker has not been fixed yet. Basunia has rejected the allegations of TMC MP Kirti Azad on him, in which the MPs are being instigated to switch sides. Kirti Azad has said that it is not right to make such a false allegation. Kirti Azad is also an MP.
