TMC Leader Abhishek Banerjee Faces Complaint Over Inflammatory Election Comments

A complaint has been filed against TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee at Siliguri Cyber Police Station in West Bengal. It is alleged that he made inflammatory statements during the election campaign. The complaint has been filed by a local businessman from Siliguri, who says that Abhishek Banerjee's comments were disruptive and inflammatory to the election atmosphere. Following a recent complaint filed against former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, now Diamond Harbour MP Abhishek Banerjee, this new case has come to light. Sanjay Kumar Singhal, former president of Siliguri Merchants Association and businessman, filed this written complaint at Siliguri Police Commissionerate's Cyber Police Station on Friday. The complaint states that Abhishek Banerjee's public meetings speeches during the election campaign and the videos circulated on his social media can create panic and political tension among the general public. According to the complainant, such comments are intimidating and a matter of concern for the democratic process. The complaint has been filed on 25th March 2026, in the form of a public rally at Sanjaygram, Nandibagh Road, and a rest of the 2026 election rally.
