TMC MLA Ashish Banerjee Found Dead, Leaves Behind Purported Suicide Note

Former Deputy Speaker of the West Bengal Assembly and five-time TMC MLA Ashish Banerjee was found hanging at the TMC office on Sunday morning. A purported suicide note has also been recovered from the spot. The body of the former TMC MLA has been sent for postmortem. Police say that the cause of death is not known at the moment. Ashish Banerjee was considered very special to Mamata Banerjee. He has not held anyone responsible for his death in this suicide note. The former Deputy Speaker of West Bengal wrote that no file was given to him in TRDA (Tarapith Rampurhat Development Authority) for three and a half years. He was neither in the tender committee nor did he have the authority to sign the cheque. He wrote that he neither approved the plan nor issued any'No Objection Certificate'( NOC). Therefore, no grant was given. No one ever discussed any of his works with him. He never wrote any role of political corruption in the university. No TMC leader ever took any illegal life from any of the students here.
