TMC MP Rejects BJP's Offer to Switch Sides, Slams Party Leaders for Lack of Courage

TMC MP Saugata Roy has claimed that the BJP had offered him to switch sides, but he turned it down. Speaking to news agency ANI, Roy said, "Yes, I did get an offer to join the BJP, but I declined. I will remain in the same party on whose symbol I won the election." Roy's statement comes after a senior Rajya Sabha MP quit the party, levelling serious allegations of corruption. Sukhendu Sekhar Roy has also resigned as an MP and has gone to a BJP leader's house, leading to speculation that he may join the BJP soon. Saugata Roy dismissed any concerns over Sukhendu Sekhar leaving the party. He said, "It is not important. Rajya Sabha MPs who have never won any election, what is the importance of their opinion?" However, he was angry about other leaders from the party, saying that the party did not have the courage to accept their defeat in every political situation.
