Earlier, Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly Ritabrata Banerjee had informed that a delegation of 10 TMC MLAs met the Election Commission. Banerjee then told the media that we are the real Trinamool Congress and have a two-thirds majority. Speaking to the media, Banerjee said, "We had a convention in Kolkata on June 22, on the basis of which the TMC was elected and Arup Roy was elected as the president of the All India Trinamool Congress (rebel faction). As soon as we had this special meeting, we sought time from the Election Commission to meet on June 23. We had requested the Election Commission to allow a delegation of as many members as they want to come here and meet the full bench. We want to thank the Election Commission that its full bench met us. We hope that the Commission will contact us soon. They said, we are the All India Trinamool Congress. More than two-thirds of the MLAs, Zilla Parishad members, etc. are with us. All of us are in the (rebel faction) All India Trinamool Congress (AITC). As soon as the Election Commission (EC) is in session, no one should be informed about it.
