West Bengal Assembly Election: TMC releases list of candidates for Assembly elections 2026. On Tuesday, TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee and national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee announced the names of candidates for 291 out of 294 seats in the state. TMC announced 52 women, 47 minorities and 95 SC and ST candidates for the assembly elections. In a press conference in Kolkata, Mamata Banerjee said that the remaining three seats in Darjeeling Hills will be contested by Anit Thapa's Bharatiya Gorkha Prajatantrik Morcha (BGPM). Mamata Banerjee said that TMC will contest 291 out of 294 seats. The remaining three seats in Darjeeling Hills will be contested by TMC's ally, Anit Thapa's BGPM. Mamata Banerjee exuded confidence that TMC will retain power with a comfortable majority and win more than 226 seats in the 2026 assembly elections. The chief minister also assured party leaders and workers who did not find a place in the list of candidates, that they will be accommodated in the list.
