Amid the ongoing political turmoil within the Trinamool Congress in West Bengal, rebel leader Ritabrata Banerjee has outrightly denied any merger speculation with the Congress. Speaking to ANI, he categorically said that his faction is neither going to the Congress nor is there any merger plan at any level. He said that this whole matter is related to the internal organization of the Trinamool Congress and has nothing to do with the Congress. Ritabrata Banerjee also claimed that he has 64 MLAs with him now, while the number was 58 earlier. According to him, all these MLAs will soon submit a letter of support to the Speaker. He said that their support is increasing continuously and the situation will be clearer in the coming time. He dismissed the merger talk and said that it is incomprehensible who is merging with whom. According to him, MPs, MLAs, Panchayat and Zilla Parishad members are not joining the Congress under any circumstances. After the assembly elections in the Trinamool Congress, resignations and a ruckus in the Rajya Sabha, Mamata Banerjee is also resigning from the membership of the Rajya Sabha.
