Trinamool Congress Shakes Up Bankura Constituencies with New Candidate Lineup

Since the announcement of the list of candidates from Kalighat, there has been a stir in Bankura. Nine out of 12 constituencies have changed their candidates. The Trinamool Congress has replaced several sitting MLAs from the minister with new faces. Several people got tickets within hours of joining the party. The list includes doctors, businessmen and professors. A number of MLAs from the heavyweight minister to the outgoing MLA have also been left out. This time the Trinamool Congress has arranged a kite with defectors to spread flowers on the red soil of Bankura. In the same strategy, the MLAs who have won Bankura in the past have been left out. The ruling party has not even given a ticket to a two-time MLA and'outgoing'minister in this district in 26 installments. The name of Jyotsna Mandi, the only minister from Bankura district, has not been included in the list. Tanushree Hansda, who joined the party just a few hours ago, has been replaced by the TMC on Tuesday morning. Chandrima Bhattacharya, the minister, has also picked up a double-flagged ticket.
