Trinamool Councilor Arrested Amid Violence in West Bengal

Presently, the Trinamool councilor of Pujali has been arrested under the Arms Act. He has been arrested by the police of the NSCBI police station of Bidhannagar. The accused has been identified as Sheikh Amirul Islam. Sheikh Amirul Islam, the councilor of the 14th ward of Pujali Municipality, was caught carrying 6 rounds of cartridges and a blank magazine from the Kolkata airport in September last year. At that time, the police could not burn him in jail for unknown reasons. The councilor was arrested after a change of guard in the state. The accused councilor will be taken to court on Wednesday. The police will investigate the case further. The situation in the state has become increasingly complicated since Monday night. Clashes have been reported in several places including Bhangar, Baruipur, Howrah and Nanoor. TMC party offices have been vandalized in some places, and there have been allegations of attacks on ruling party workers. The situation worsened on Tuesday when murders were reported from two parts of the state. On one side, the murder of a secretary of the Trinamool worker, on the other side, the news of Khurrami has also been reported.
