Nitai Dey, Agartala: In view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call to save fuel, the Tripura government has taken important decisions to save fuel and reduce administrative expenses in Tripura. It has been decided to reduce the number of vehicles in the Chief Minister's convoy as well as to introduce a partial "work from home" system for Class III and IV employees in government offices. A high-level meeting was held in Mahakaran on Wednesday night in the presence of the Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, Director General of State Police and top officials of the Home Department. During the meeting, Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha directed to reduce the number of vehicles in the Chief Minister's convoy from a total of seven vehicles to four. Similarly, the convoys of other ministers of the state have also been reduced from three to two vehicles. Recently, the Tripura government has taken this step in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call to save fuel. Members of the Chief Minister's Office, including the Chief Minister's Office, have been directed to ensure 50% attendance of Class IV employees during office hours.
