TRS Protest Turns Violent in Medchal-Malkajgiri District; Kavitha Arrested

Hundreds of TRS activists had started arriving at Boduppal in Medchal-Malkajgiri district since morning to join the protest. However, the police did not allow the demonstration and removed the tents put up by the TRS activists. The protesters began to be detained. The situation became more tense when Kavitha reached Medipally along with her supporters and attended the pooja held at the layout of Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA). A large number of policemen deployed at the venue tried to remove the protesters, including women. When this was objected to, a scuffle broke out between the two sides. The policemen picked up Kavitha and took her to the police vehicle. Later, she was taken to Bolarum police station. After being taken into custody, Kavitha told the media that the countdown of the Congress government had begun. She said that she was arrested only because she was demanding the Telangana Martyrs'land, as per her electoral promise to the Congress government.
