Trump Halt to Project Freedom Marks Shift in US-Iran Tensions

New Delhi: Tensions between the US and Iran have seen a major shift. US President Donald Trump has announced a temporary halt to Project Freedom to evacuate ships stranded in the Gulf of Hormuz. According to Trump, talks with Iran are now moving towards a final agreement and have made good progress. Meanwhile, the US has also announced an end to its military campaign, Operation Epic Fury. Secretary of State Mark Rubio has made it clear that the US no longer wants a new war and wants to pursue a path of peace. Even though Project Freedom has been halted, Trump has made it clear that the US blockade of the Gulf of Hormuz will continue in full force. In a stern warning to Iran, Trump said that the US has inflicted so much damage on the Iranian Navy that they now have no boats left to fight. He also made a statement about protests by Iranian citizens, claiming that the US has destroyed 7 boats in the conflict.
