Trump Suggests Allowing Syria to Target Hezbollah, Raising Concerns

US President Donald Trump has suggested to Israel that Syria should be allowed to continue military operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon. Trump believes that Syria's new government can take action against Hezbollah more effectively than Israel. Although this proposal has raised new concerns in both Lebanon and Israel. The new government in Syria was formed after the fall of President Bashar al-Assad's government about a year and a half ago. Trump said during the recent G7 summit that the war between Israel and Hezbollah has dragged on too long and that too many people are being killed. He said that Israel does not need to demolish an entire building to target one person every time. Trump also said that he has advised Israel to hand over the task of dealing with Hezbollah to Syria. However, Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa has rejected these claims. Al-Sharaa has said in a statement that he does not want to intervene in Syria.
