An order was issued before suggesting New Mexico. A few days earlier, Trump had signed a document renaming Lake Ontario to "Lake America" amid a trade dispute with Canada. He made the announcement from the Oval Office on August 27. Lake Ontario is one of five Great Lakes located on the Canada-US border. It shares a name with the Canadian province of Ontario and the state of New York. Toronto is located on its northwestern shore.
