Ukraine Launches Largest-Ever Drone Strike on Russia

Ukraine carried out its largest-ever drone strike on Russia on Thursday. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, about 1,000 drones and four cruise missiles were shot down overnight. About 200 of them were heading for the capital, Moscow. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said, "We did not want this war, but if Ukraine burns, Moscow will also burn." The BBC reported that an oil depot in the southern Rostov region was destroyed in the attack. One person was killed. Moscow's Kapotnya oil refinery was also hit. The lid of the oil depot tank bounced several meters and plumes of black smoke billowed into the sky after the explosion. According to reports, a nearby shopping center also caught fire. Drone debris caused damage to some residential and commercial buildings. Several high-rise buildings were evacuated. Flights were briefly halted at Moscow's airports after the attack. Moscow told the Russian military that they had responded to the strikes.
