UP Cabinet Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar Announces Possible State Division and Sub-Categorization Demands Ahead of 2027 Elections

On 20 September 2026, from the stage, UP government's cabinet minister and Subhaspa president Om Prakash Rajbhar said that Uttar Pradesh will be divided into four parts in the coming time. Rajbhar said that if a separate Purvanchal state is formed, the first CM will be from Rajbhar Samaj. This statement came just before the 2027 assembly elections. Rajbhar also reiterated the demand for sub-categorization within 27 percent OBC reservation from this platform. Rajbhar claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured him that after the caste census, there can be a discussion on the division of the state. Rajbhar's statement is not sudden. His party has a mass base in Purvanchal and Rajbhar Samaj is considered to be an important vote bank in politics there. In the 2027 elections, more than 125 assembly seats of Purvanchal are considered to be decisive. Rajbhar has tried to make his message to the society that if the former Samaj demands the sub-categorization within 27 percent OBC reservation, then it will be only one person sitting on the electoral chair.
