UP Election Commission Releases Final Voter List for Panchayat Polls, Adds 18 Million New Voters

As UP gears up for panchayat polls, the Uttar Pradesh Election Commission has released the final voter list. The voter list released at the district level has undergone extensive revisions. About 18.1 million new voters have been added to the final voter list, while 14.1 million voters have been deleted. Overall, the panchayat voter list has increased by about 40.19 lakh voters compared to the previous election's list. The Uttar Pradesh Election Commission has also allocated a 9-digit unique identification number to all voters for the panchayat elections to make the voter list more transparent and systematic. This will help identify voters in the panchayat elections and manage records. However, now with the release of the final voter list, the political activity surrounding the panchayat elections is expected to intensify. Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh Election Commission had released the voter list on December 18, 2025. After this, the final voter list was released.
