US-Iran Ceasefire Ends as Trump Threatens Further Strikes

The ceasefire between the United States and Iran has ended. US President Donald Trump said during a NATO summit in the Turkish capital Ankara on Wednesday that the United States could strike Iran again tonight. He said earlier that he no longer wants to make a deal with Iran. Trump said, The United States carried out airstrikes on more than 80 military sites in Iran late Tuesday. According to US Central Command (CENTCOM), this action was in response to attacks on ships in Hormuz. NATO chief Mark Rutte on Wednesday supported the recent US military strikes on Iran. He said the US action was absolutely necessary after the attacks on three merchant ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. Before the NATO summit in the Turkish capital Ankara, Rutte said that the 14-point memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the United States and Iran was in force, but Iran violated it.
