US-Iran Talks Continue Amid Threats of Further Conflict

Tehran: Iran says it has responded to a new US proposal to end the war. The information comes as the US plans to strike Iran again. The Iranian foreign ministry said in a statement that talks between the US and Iran are continuing through a mediator, Pakistan. Meanwhile, Iranian state-controlled media have described the demands in the US proposal as excessive. They have also claimed that Iran will not bow to these unreasonable US demands under any circumstances. Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Esmail Baqaei said during a press briefing, "As we announced yesterday, our concerns have been conveyed to the US side." He said the talks are continuing through a Pakistani mediator. However, he did not provide any further details. At the same press conference, Baqaei said that Iranian leaders are holding talks with Omani officials on creating a mechanism that would allow the Gulf countries to secure a safe passage through the Gulf of Muscadam.
