US Launches Airstrikes Against Iran Over Drone Attack in Strait of Hormuz

The United States attacked Iran for about an hour on Friday. The US military targeted missile-drone bases and coastal radar sites. President Donald Trump said Iran broke the ceasefire, so it retaliated. According to the US Central Command (CENTCOM), on June 25, Iran launched a drone attack on the Singaporean cargo ship MV Ever Lovely in the Strait of Hormuz. On the other hand, according to Iran's state news agency IRNA, the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Navy claimed that it targeted US military bases in the region in response. Iranian parliamentarian Ebrahim Azizi wrote on X that the US has once again attacked Iran in the midst of negotiations. This violation of the ceasefire will cause the US to retreat and regret. Iran alleged that the US and NATO countries that supported Israel's attack should be held accountable. The Foreign Ministry said that these countries should explain why they damaged a cargo ship near the Strait of Oman in response.
