Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid floral tributes at the statue of former Chief Minister late Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna on his birth anniversary at Yojana Bhawan. The Chief Minister said that Bahuguna ji was an important pillar of India's politics. He was born on 25 April 1919 in Pauri Garhwal district of then Uttar Pradesh (now Uttarakhand). After earning his early education in the village, he came to Prayagraj for higher education. Bahuguna ji's active participation in the'Quit India Movement'on the call of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi from 1942 to 1946, which also led to his imprisonment by the British Government. Chief Minister said that Bahuguna ji left his mark as an ardent student leader of Allahabad University. He remained active in the country's freedom movement. He became a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly for the first time after independence in 1952. He also had the opportunity to serve as a minister in the state government. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Bahuguna ji could also realize his vision on the ground.
