Uttar Pradesh MP Iqra Hassan Placed Under House Arrest Amid Mosque Demolition Controversy

The demolition of the mosque at the Collectorate in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, is gaining momentum. Kairana MP Iqra Hassan has been placed under house arrest. Police have been deployed at her house since night. Iqra Hassan has accused the administration. She said, there were preparations to raise the voice of the public by going to Saharanpur and meeting the authorities, but I was put under house arrest. I was not allowed to leave the house. SP MP Iqra Hassan further said that is it a crime to meet the authorities on a public issue? Further, the voice of the public cannot be suppressed by stopping the people's representative. Adequate police force is deployed outside her house. Saharanpur MP Imran Masood appealed to the public to maintain peace and restraint after the district court's order in the Collectorate Mosque case. He said that the process of the court should be respected and any kind of rumour or provocative statements should be avoided. Imran Masood appealed to the people to maintain law and order and the supporters of the judiciary to spread misinformation on social media.
