The picture of the ongoing election process for 10 Rajya Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh has now become clear. The scrutiny of nomination papers has rejected the papers of two independent candidates. After this, 8 candidates of BJP and 2 candidates of SP are left in the fray. Independent candidates Onkarnath Chaurasia and Kante Saina had also filed their nominations for the Rajya Sabha elections. During the scrutiny, the necessary proposer formalities were not completed in both their nominations. Due to this reason, their papers were rejected. Now only 10 candidates are in the fray for 10 Rajya Sabha seats. In such a situation, voting will not be required for these seats, if there is no new change during the process. The official announcement of uncontested elections will be made after the last date of withdrawal of nominations on 9 October. The necessary proposer condition was not fulfilled in the nomination papers of Onkarnath Chaurasia and Kante Saina. Actually, the signatures of 10 MLAs were required for the nomination of independent candidates in the Rajya Sabha elections. Both the necessary formalities of the 10 nominations could not be completed during this scrutiny.
