Taking forward the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, the Uttarakhand government is taking rapid steps to make youth entrepreneurs and strengthen the startup ecosystem in the state. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the number of startups in the state has registered a huge jump. While there were only 100 startups in the state by the end of 2018, the figure crossed 500 by the end of 2021. Innovators, incubators, mentors, and investors are being brought on one platform through the'Startup Policy-2023'implemented by the state government. For this, the official portal has also been launched as a'One Stop Interactive Platform '. Under the new policy, a target has been set to set up 1000 new startups and set up at least one incubator in every district in the next five years. Registered startups will be given an allowance of ₹15,000 per month for one year. While ST / ST / Transgender startups associated with grassroots level will get a monthly seed / seed funding of ₹10,000 / month.
