Uttarakhand Government Criticized Over Ardh Kumbh Mela Safety Concerns

The statement made by the former MLA during the Congress public meeting held in Almora, Uttarakhand regarding the Ardh Kumbh Mela has now become a big issue in the politics of the state. In his address, Thukral made serious allegations against the present government, saying that even in a big religious event like Kumbh, the lives of Hindus can be put at risk for political gains. Rajkumar Thukral said that the Kumbh Mela is not only a matter of faith, but a very sensitive event related to the feelings of crores of people. The responsibility of the government is that the safety of the devotees is given top priority. He alleged that the current government also views such events from the point of view of political gain, which is very worrying. In his statement, Thukral also said that in the past, there have been cases of negligence and mismanagement in big events, which were later used politically. Indicating that if the arrangements were not improved in time, like the Ardh Kumbh event, crores of devotees could reach the country and abroad for a huge crowd, the arrangements for the Kumbh Mela could be so strong.
