Uttarakhand Village Heads Protest Against Government Demands Ahead of Assembly Elections

In Uttarakhand, ahead of the assembly elections, the anger of the village heads has begun to show against the government. Today, the village heads of Dehradun and Kalsi region are sitting on a dharna outside the Panchayati Raj Office in Dehradun. During this time, the village head organization has given the government an ultimatum of 5 days to implement its demands. It has also warned of a march to the secretariat on October 3 if the demands are not met. The main demand of the village heads is that the honorarium-gram heads should get an honorarium of at least 20 thousand rupees per month. The honorarium should also be given to the village panchayat ward members for attending every open meeting. The heads say that Uttarakhand is a hilly state and the network is either not there or very weak in many areas. In such a situation, it is not practical to register the presence of the laborers online. Their demand is that the attendance is completely offline, it will increase the employment in the villages and will also stop migration. Along with this, the daily wage of unskilled laborers and 800 skilled workers should be increased on the basis of the state's geographical area and geographical area finance.
