Varanasi Protest: BJP Demands Apology from Rahul Gandhi Over 'Traitor' Remark

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's parliamentary constituency Varanasi is witnessing massive outrage over Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi's'traitor'remark. The BJP Backward Class Morcha today staged a massive protest against his statement and burnt his effigy. The BJP said he has lost his mental balance due to successive electoral defeats. In Varanasi, dozens of BJP workers led by Anoop Jaiswal, regional vice-president of the BJP Backward Class Morcha Kashi region, took out a protest march against Rahul Gandhi and burnt his effigy symbolically. They accused the Congress leader of being a friend of China and shouted slogans. Anoop Jaiswal, regional vice-president of the BJP Backward Class Morcha Kashi region, said "Rahul Gandhi is a friend of China, a traitor of the country." A large number of BJP workers joined the protest and expressed resentment against the Congress leadership. Anoop Jaiswal, who led the programme, said that the frustration and disappointment stemming from successive electoral defeats have made Rahul Gandhi mentally imbalanced. Congress workers have been constantly protesting against Rahul Gandhi during his protest.
