The State Election Commission has clarified that it is mandatory to ensure the identity of the voter for voting. If you do not have a Voter ID, you can still vote through one of the 11 alternative photo identity documents. Before going to the polling station, voters should check the name in their electoral roll and the information of the polling station. For this, the electoral roll / election related online facility available from the Election Commission can be used. If you do not have a voter ID despite the name being in the list, then there is no need to worry. The Commission has also approved alternative photo identity documents for voting. If a voter ID is not available, according to the State Election Commission, voting can be done by showing one of these valid photo identity documents - Aadhaar Card, Vikas Bharat-Gurantee for Employment and Livelihood Mission (VB-G RAM G) / MGNREGA Card, Bank or Post Office Passbook with photo, Health Insurance Smart Card / Ayushman Bharat Driving License Card or Pension Document with photo issued by the Central Government.
