West Bengal Assembly Election: Tensions Flare in Nowda Amid Voting

Situation in Nowda area of Murshidabad became tense after a clash during the first phase of West Bengal Assembly Election 2026. Police and CRPF continued operations to control the situation as the crowd became aggressive. The clash was between Aam Janata Unnayan Party (AUJP) and Trinamool Congress workers, after which the atmosphere in the area heated up. Security forces had to take immediate action as the situation deteriorated. According to officials, additional forces have been deployed and the area is being monitored continuously.
