Citing statistics, Ritabrata Banerjee put the state government in the dock. He said that it is a very shocking fact that in the last 15 years, the West Bengal Assembly has been the last in the entire country in terms of working days. We are far below the national average. We have demanded the government and the Speaker to change this situation. To keep democracy alive, it is very important to increase the working days of the Assembly. The Leader of the Opposition pointed out that for the upcoming session, the opposition had demanded maximum time for discussion. The government has assured that six hours will be discussed on the governor's address and 10 hours on the budget. Also, the opposition will be given 50 percent time to have their say. Ritabrata Banerjee welcomed this decision and said that this is a healthy sign for democracy. If the government fulfills its promises, then it is okay, otherwise the opposition will lodge a strong protest. He said that in a democracy, it is very important to have an advertisement against labourers.
