West Bengal Campaign: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta's Meetings Fall Flat

The meeting venue was almost empty. There were only a handful of people sitting in the front row. But all the chairs in the back row were empty. Delhi Chief Minister and BJP leader Rekha Gupta, who came to West Midnapore on the weekend to campaign in the state, held a meeting virtually empty. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah held public meetings and roadshows in the state throughout Saturday. Rekha's program was similar. She landed at Andal Airport around Saturday evening. Then she went straight to Raniganj. She had her first meeting there. But the meeting in Raniganj was not so crowded. There was no audience to listen to Rekha. According to local sources, only a few BJP workers were sitting in the front row. The rest of the chairs were empty. Rekha did not speak for a long time. She left the meeting venue for a short while. However, as expected, she attacked the state government. After the next meeting in Raniganj, Rekha held a public meeting near Panagari instead of Panagari.
