West Bengal CID Issues Fresh Summons to TMC Leader Abhishek Banerjee in Forged Signatures Case

The West Bengal CID on Friday issued a fresh summons to Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee to appear before it on June 14 for a second round of questioning in the alleged forged signatures case. The CID had reached his house to serve a notice on Abhishek Banerjee. CID officials had to wait for over 3 hours to serve the notice. Meanwhile, TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee said that he has always been cooperating with the investigating agencies. He said that the TMC cannot be cowed down by buying MLAs and MPs. Abhishek Banerjee said, "You know that the CID called me. I stayed there for 5: 30 hours. I have been called again on June 14. I will go. I always cooperate in such investigations. I can be summoned in any other case too. I have told them to serve the notice to someone else because I was not there, but I have heard that they were waiting. If they want to serve the notice when I am not there and not allow any DJ agencies to accompany me during the election, then they will have to wait till my return home."
